Deck and Patio, Composite Deck Repair and Maintenance
A Longer Life for Park City Composite Decks
Already the leader in the decking industry for lifespan, anyone who installs a composite deck wants to make sure it lives up to the hype. Predicted to surpass classic wooden decks by 25 or 30 years, manufacturers of composite decking materials stand behind these claims with a 25-year warranty. While you may pay a little more for your composite deck up front, the lifespan and warranty takes it beyond wooden decks in our opinion.
More and more Park City clients come to us inquiring about composite decks and more and more of them are deciding to have one built. Throughout the years we’ve constructed many of these decks, and the best reward we can get is our clients maintaining them so they stay in their original beautiful condition.
Keep Your Deck Strong
As deck repair contractors, there’s a lot we can do at Cottonwood Custom LLC to help you out if you run into any issues with your composite deck. However, there’s a lot you can do as well to make sure it never gets to that point.
The main component of upkeep on a composite deck is simply washing. Not power washing though, unless it is carried out very carefully, at 3,100 psi maximum. If the boards are damaged via power washer, your warranty will be void.
If your deck happens to be older uncapped composite, the process for maintenance will be a little more complicated, including using a specific cleaner on it when cleaning. However, new capped composite is fine with soap and water!
Regularly sweep your deck, ensure that food and oils are cleaned off it immediately so as not to stain, and if all else fails—you can flip boards! Top side not looking so pretty? Make it a bottom side instead.
Let Us Lend a Hand
We’re happy to have helped our Park City clients install new composite decks and refurbish old ones. Our results then inspire these clients to maintain their sparkly new deck. But when you have heavy damage to deal with, there’s only so much you can do. This is where we come in.
If you’ve flipped a board and damaged the new side, you’ll need a replacement. We can install that in a matter of hours. Sometimes older composite can run into a bit of warping which will also require a replacement board. In these cases, allow us to match your old board with a new one that will never warp again!
None of these repairs (you’ll be happy to hear) break the bank. So, don’t hesitate in calling about any concerns.
The more boards you have to replace the more your final bill will be, so stay on top of maintenance, be careful with your composite deck and when problems do crop up, be sure to call sooner rather than later.
With Cottonwood Custom LLC you’ll always get a beyond satisfactory job that combines repair and prevention of future damage all in one go!
