Joe and Tim worked closely with me on refurbishing an old dilapidated redwood deck this summer (Aug 2023). This was truly a custom project. In addition to cosmetic issues, there were some difficult structural challenges and they were up to the task. Their team of diligent workers were hard working, polite, fun and experienced. The foreman was an ace at precision cuts. The job was completed without interruption over three weeks and I was kept apprised every day. My view of this deck has changed from wide eyed dismay to complete pleasure because of the renovation. Last summer Cottonwood Custom put in two new composite decks on our home. The work was12 to 20 feet off the ground, included picture frame style blocking, stairs, and iron railing. We love the decks. They add significant value and enjoyment to our home. The framing work is impressively sturdy and the quality seems a cut above. Couldn’t ask for a nicer, cleaner crew. Most of the old wood could not be reused as planned, resulting in a huge cost increase. Tim and Joe were compassionate and fair as they worked with us on the final cost. They even spent time training us so we could do some work ourselves. Outstanding company and people- easy to positively recommend!

We looked around for several weeks to find a contractor who had the qualifications and reputation to replace our existing deck. After reviewing the online reviews, we elected to go with Cottonwood Customs. We could not be happier with our choice. They nailed it! They were not only professional, but extremely reliable and personable. They kept us informed throughout the entire process. We really cannot say enough about Tim and his crew!!!

Our 1998 home was built with the standard wood deck. Every year we had Tim at Cottonwood Custom and his crew come and maintain the deck. It lasted very well all of these years until we finally decided to replace / update it with a new deck using the new Trex materials. Working with Tim, we designed a new deck. His skill and creativity resulted in a new deck that is beyond what we imagined. The workmanship is excellent and the crew fun to work with. As is usual with any construction project, issues came up. After demolishing the old deck, they discovered that our home was constructed using i-joists, meaning that the deck cannot be supported by the house structure. The old deck could have collapsed at any time. The team caught the issue, stopped the work, and together we redesigned the construction so that the deck became a stand-alone structure that is still tied to the house, but not supported by it. The team dealt with other issues making every effort to create a beautiful and safe deck. Tim designed a special feature for us that makes the deck uniquely ours, adds a lot of interest, and gives us privacy. Start to finish these people are fun and rewarding to work with. We have known them for many years and can vouch for their honesty, professionalism, fairness, and just they are just plain great to be around. They work hard, return calls promptly, and listen to / answer all of our questions and concerns.

Our 40 year old deck was in desperate need of repairs and new stain. It became a safety hazard. Absolutely OUTSTANDING !!! My deck was old wipe badly peeling deck paint, split boards in olance and railing that had come loose in serval places. After two and a half days of sanding, repair work and staining, my deck looks GORGEOUS!! I have seldom seen such a dedicated and responsive crew!!! Outstanding company.
